Melebeli dirinya sebagai ‘drama bencana’, San Andreas di bawah panji studio rakasasa macam Warners Bros. memang tidak main-main dalam mengolah premis disaster-nya menjadi sebuah sajian yang megah. Jika sudah menyaksikan tralier-nya, kamu akan tahu maksudnya. Skalanya yang luar biasa besar hanya bisa dikalahkan oleh 2012-nya sang bapak film bencana, Roland Emmerich. Nama Brad Peyton mungkin tidak ada apa-apanya dibandingkan Emmerich, tetapi setelah melihat apa yang sudah dilakukannya dalam San Andreas, ia sama sekali tidak buruk untuk ukuran mantan sutradara film pendek spesialiasi sekuel tak populer. (Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island).
